City of Faridabad to join IIKC



Faridabad, a major industrial city and population centre in Haryana India, are almost certain of taking part in the inaugural International Inter City Kabaddi Championships 2008 (IIKC).

The city was founded in 1607 by Shaikh Farid, treasurer of Jahangir Khan, and comes with a rich tradition in kabaddi.

Among the other teams already confirmed their participation in the tournament are Chennai, Colombo, New Delhi, Triconmalee.

Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya would lead the Malaysian challenge at the tournament to be held at the Police Depot from Dec 26-28.

A team comprising of foreign players representing Kuala Lumpur Expatriates are also expected to participate.

Competition would be held for both the men and women’s categories.
