Kg Pandan Lions raider S. Vijendran among the newcomers in the squad

The Kabaddi Association of Kuala Lumpur (KAKL) have opted for an experimental men's team for the National Level Traditional Sports Carnival in Ipoh from 24-26 July, 2009.

Several regulars have been dropped from the team to allow newer players the chance to show their talents at the competition.

The competition, is not among the priority tournaments for the KAKL although it was included at the carnival through the efforts of the association.

Despite, sending an experimental side, the KAKL is still confident that the team would be able to challenge for the gold medal at the carnival.

For the womens, the KAKL has opted to send their best side for the tournament. Almost all of the women's players would be playing at a national level competition for the first time.

Like the men's the KAKL is also confident that the state women's team has the ability to win the title.
