Kg Pandan Kabaddi Club won the inaugural Datuk G Palanivel Cup kabaddi championships held at the Kg Pandan Grounds here today.
Teams from Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Negri Sembilan took part in the competition organised by the MIC Kg Pandan.
Kg Pandan played a patient and disciplined game to hand Sri Devi a 23-15 defeat in the final.
Both teams were locked in a close battle in the first half, with Kg Pandan taking a slim 10-9 lead at the end of the first half.
But Kg Pandan played a strong defensive game in the second to outplay their rivals.
Earlier in the semi-finals, Kg Pandan defeated Sandeeyar while Sri Devi edged out Pasum Ponn.
Selangor State MIC Youth Chairman Shanker Raj Ayengar gave away the prizes to the winners.
