BOYCOTT AVERTED

The Federal Territory Sports Department had decided to withdraw one of the state kabaddi teams from the National Level Traditional Sports Carnival in Ipoh starting tomorrow.

The decision was made in protest of the KAM's decision to change the age category for the event from open to Under-20 at the eleventh hour.

However, KAKL requested that both the boys and girls team from the state to be allowed to play at the carnival for the sake of sportsmanship and the development of the game in a holistic manner in the country.

A new team has been selected with less than 48 hours notice and the team would leave for Ipoh today despite not having a single full training session.

Despite the setback, we are still confident of doing well at the carnival.
